SCIENTIFIC MISSION
The primary goal of our research is to develop theory, algorithm, and system for visual computing. Specifically, we focus on creating and enhancing visual contents, reconstructing scene geometry and reflectance, and modeling light transport. To this end, we conduct interdisciplinary research at the intersection of computer graphics, computer vision, machine learning, and optics.
3D Reconstruction
We develop algorithms and systems to reconstruct our real world's 3D geometry and appearance. We can use the acquired 3D assets for diverse applications where we need to understand the 3D world.
Computational Imaging
We jointly develop theories, algorithms, and systems to achieve a superhuman vision in the form of new imaging and display systems.
Visual Synthesis
We develop algorithms that can synthesize new visual data with machine creativity.
Computational Photography
We develop algorithms to acquire the highest-quality visual data with existing imaging devices.
